Johnnie's Pizzeria

"Bragging-Rights" have to be EARNED...so I was skeptical about Johnnie's Pizzeria slogan: "The Perfect Pizza". Perfect??? Come on, people! PERFECT doesn't leave ANY margin for error. Hmmph... get my point? Clearly, you have to promote yourself in business, though, so I vowed to do my homework and checked-out Johnnie's Pizzeria for myself.

Wow! They redecorated! Big improvement here! Brick walls, wooden bar and green, leather booths provided comfortable, intimate seating. The outdoor courtyard dining area, anchored with red and white checked tablecloths and ivy-covered lattice, was a cozy hideaway reminiscent of a fabulous restaurant I discovered tucked away between the cosmopolitan skyscrapers of New York.

Their menu, standard for a pizzeria, included salads, sandwiches, pastas, calzones and an endless variety of pizzas. The trivia on the menu, i.e. "Johnnie's Story" and "Whaddaya Know About Good Pizza" are worth reading. You'll leave Johnnie's Pizzeria wiser about pizza, but you probably WON'T want to order one of those "pre-made pizzas" anytime soon. Consider yourself warned!

I may not be an expert on opera or a wizard of wine-tasting, but "Mama Mia, I knowa da' pizza"! I love to make it, I love to eat it, and you'll NEVER hear me say, "No, I don't want pizza; I had it last night." Nope, not going to happen. Johnnie says the secret is in the crust, but if you use the wrong sauce, put in the wrong seasonings, cheese or toppings, it's still not going to be PERFECT.

Luckily for anyone who tries Johnnie's Pizzeria pizza -- they really DO make "The Perfect Pizza". From the crisp, chewy, flavorful crust to the delicious toppings and smooth, rich cheese, their pizza is bravissimo! They also have great salads; the Mixed Green and the BBQ Chicken are both popular. And for those with a sense of humor, they have a small sign that says: "Save water -- drink beer and wine!" It made me chuckle so I ordered a beer. Watch out for the subliminal message: pizza, pizza, pizza, pizza. Note: same message when played backward!
