Motivation Tips

The hardest part of starting an exercise program is just THAT -- following through with your initial thought. Willpower, resolution, "mind-over-matter" -- whatever you call it -- sometimes it seems like some people have it, while others DON'T! Changing a behavior pattern or lifestyle can be one of the MOST difficult things to do, but the good news is -- it CAN be done! I've seen it happen repeatedly; I've done it myself. It's difficult to stick with, but it's also rewarding AND empowering. Once you've made up your mind, you've already taken the first big step.

Here are some tips to help you stay on-course:

1) Make sure you're doing it for YOURSELF -- not to please anyone else!

2) Be certain your goals and expectations are REALISTIC...and obtainable.

I can't tell you how many people start-off with a bang after New Years, only to fizzle-out by March.

3) Find a work-out buddy -- someone who can help you stay motivated and whose company you enjoy.

4) Discover activities you enjoy doing, which fit into your regular schedule.

5) Most of all, BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF! It takes time to see and/or feel results.

Next week I will be going over some great exercises (you can do ANYWHERE) to get you started. Please log-on again!
