AYSO Smurfs

The Malibu Smurfs finished first for the AYSO U14 Girls division. The team coached by David Simpson had a impressive record of 5-2 and 1. All thirteen girls on the team put forward a great effort. Goal keeping and defense were a strong point for this team allowing only seven goals in eight games with three shutouts. Kitty Smith and Connolly Smith were standouts in the middle of the defense and majority of the goal keeping was done by Lail Stockfish and Cassidy Pritchett. Eva Post helped to create a strong offence which netted a combined total of 32 goals. They now move on to regional playoffs starting on December 16th. They will be facing stiffer competition in Newbury Park, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Agoura. Malibu plays three games on the 16th and if they win their pool they play two games on the 17th. All the girls involved on this team put together a great effort. The coach believes the girls strong point was that they all love to play soccer. They practiced and trained hard on practice days and gave it 100% on game day.
